Love Challenge – Self Seeking

self seekingWelcome back to this week’s Love Challenge. Today we’re talking about self-seeking. Google defines self seeking as “self-serving, self-interested, egocentric, egotistic, self obsessed, self-absorbed, inconsiderate, thoughtless, unthinking”

It’s a pretty bleak picture. Someone who is so absorbed with self that they are completely thoughtless when it comes to others. Are there any ares of your life that you are focused on you and only you? Are there people in your life that you are unaware of or ignoring because you are consumed with making things work for you?

Hello friends! Welcome back to Weekly Challenge! We’re talking about Applying Qualities right now and today’s topic is Perseverance. Last week we talked about self control and the challenge was to walk down an aisle that tempts you at the store. For me, that would be the book aisle, or worse yet, Barnes and Noble or Half Price Books. I can’t seem to get out of there without spending money! Self Control – Applying Qualities

Hello friends! Welcome back to Weekly Challenge! We’re talking about Applying Qualities right now and today’s topic is self control. We’ve talked about it before in the Fruit of the Spirit mini session but it’s a pretty important quality that’s discussed several times in the New Testament so we’re going to tackle it one more time in 2 Peter.

Last week we talked about knowledge. Your challenge was to read a book for fun. As much as I love to read, I find myself so busy sometimes that I can’t find the time for. Study after study proves that reading often improves all sorts of things like memory and language skills. Tell me how you did with last week’s challenge in the comments below and as always, feel free to print the cards for your personal use. Diligence – Applying Qualities

Hello friends! Welcome back to Weekly Challenge! We’re talking about Applying Qualities right now and today’s topic is diligence. This week’s challenge is going to be a difficult one for me. I tend to give up long before a puzzle is complete. If puzzles are easy peasy for you, choose something else that isn’t. Choose something that will take a long time like making ice cream from the cream off the top of some fresh milk.

Last week we introduced our next mini session, Applying Qualities. Your challenge was to begin to memorize 2 Peter 1:5-8. Tell me which of the qualities in our new passage you struggle with the most in the comments below. Hello friends! Welcome back to Weekly Challenge! We’re talking about Applying Qualities right now and today’s topic is moral excellence. Being excellent morally is more than simply doing good things, it’s avoiding bad things. It’s dwelling on righteous and casting out unrighteous. It’s a big, huge, all encompassing type of character trait. It’s sort of overwhelming for me to ponder.

Anyways, last week we talked about diligence. Your challenge was to set a large puzzle. For some of you, this may have been easy but in my house, puzzle + toddler + cats = unfinished puzzle. Applying Qualities

Hello friends! Welcome back to Weekly Challenge! We’re beginning our second mini series within Weekly Challenge this week. I’m calling it Applying Qualities. It is based on 1 Peter 1:5-8 which calls us to apply new qualities to qualities we already have. What I love about this passage is that it is ongoing. I can always improve on each of these.

Last week we talked about self control to wrap up our Fruit of the Spirit mini session. Your challenge was to browse an aisle or store that tempts you and resist the temptation. If you didn’t do so well this time, don’t worry, self control will come up again and this challenge will repeat! Self Control – Fruit of the Spirit

Hello friends! Welcome back to Weekly Challenge! We’re talking about Fruits of the Spirit right now and today’s topic is self control. Do you reach into the cookie jar when it’s left on the counter with the lid off or are you able to wait until after dinner? I’ll tell you, this is one I struggle with. If I have cash in my wallet, it seems to disappear by the end of the day and I can’t really account for where it went. This week’s challenge will be rather difficult!

Last week we talked about gentleness. Your challenge was to tend to a plant or animal that you normally don’t tend to. That could have been buying a delicate flower plant and keeping it alive for a while or it could have meant dog sitting your neighbors doberman.
